PROGRAM:

Young Inventor Challenge : Sustainable and Recycle Materials 2024

OBJECTIVES:

This programme aims to nurture creative and innovative students through the creation of innovative product models based on the 3R concept (Recycle / Reuse / Reduce) using recyclable materials. These materials can be transformed into something new and functional as designed.

 

PARTICIPATION TARGET

Primary and secondary school students.

 

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

1. No fees will be charged for student participation (limited to the first 50 entries. Subsequent entries will need to pay fee of RM 50.00 per entry)

2. Each school can submit more than one entry.

3. Each entry can be individual or in a group (maximum of 5 participants) with a supervising teacher (maximum of 2 teachers).

4. Each entry must create an innovative product model according to the competition concept.

5. Each entry must fill out the participation form and attach the payment receipt for the participation fee (for entries of 51 and above) through the link provided on the InNow website.

6. Registration confirmation and participation ID number will be provided via email within two (2) weeks after the registration is made.

7. ​I) For physical participation: Each group is required to prepare a poster and prototype (if any).
   II) For online participation: Each group is required to prepare a poster and a video to be submitted to the secretariat by the specified date.

8. The "Best of the Best" award will only be applicable to physical participants.

9. Each entry will receive one medal and an e-certificate. Participants who wish to purchase additional medals can do so for RM50.00 / USD 20.00 per medal.

 

PARTICIPATION CRITERIA

Online Participation

1. Each group participating online must prepare a poster and video of the idea/product as follows:

• The poster must explain the idea, based on the 3R concept (Recycle/Reuse/Reduce) using recyclable materials. The poster should clearly include design sketches, types of recyclable materials, and the product's functions. The poster format should be in PDF format and only one page.

• The video must clearly explain the idea, concept, design sketches, types of recyclable materials, and the product's functions.

 

Physical Participation

1. Groups participating physically need to prepare a poster. The poster must explain the idea, based on the 3R concept (Recycle/Reuse/Reduce) using recyclable materials. The poster should clearly include design sketches, types of recyclable materials, and the product's functions. The poster format should be in size A1 and only one page.

ADDITIONAL CRITERIA FOR ONLINE SUBMISSION

1. The video should not exceed 5 minutes in duration. Name the video file according to the format: GroupName_SchoolName_InNow2024/video

2. Each online entry must upload the video to the school's Facebook/YouTube. Then, the link to the video should be sent to the link that will be provided on the InNow 2024 website, while the innovative product model should be kept at the respective school until the final results are obtained.
